Lash Out!

Lush lashes aren’t just for those who are born with them. Eyelash extensions have become a popular option for those who want to wake up with fuller, longer lashes every day.

“Most people come in because with the lash extensions, it’s geared to enhance their everyday lifestyle,” says Kristin Wood of Kristin Wood Beauty Boutique on Kapahulu Avenue. “It’s also a great benefit if you have allergies, or if you have really sparse lashes. It gives us that extra lift without using a lash curler or mascara (or the traditional glue-on lash strips). It looks good and makes you feel good.”

For lash extensions, Wood offers a range of authentic mink lashes and high-grade silk lashes. The application process takes about three hours for a new set, which consists of about 100 lashes per eye, and most clients return for a relash every three weeks.

“The lash extensions are attached to your natural lash and do not touch your skin, so it’s comfortable,” explains Wood. “You shouldn’t be able to feel them, and you should be able to brush through them.”

At Kristin Wood Beauty Boutique, which also has a location in Kailua, lash extensions start at $300 and relashing starts at $90.
