WAIKIKI HOLIDAY PARADE

Honoring the survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Waikiki Holiday Parade features 4,000 marchers including 38 bands from Hawai’i and around the country. The parade steps off from Saratoga Road at 7 p.m., marches down Kalakaua Avenue, and ends at Kapi’olani Park. www.waikikiholidayparade.com
HONOLULU MARATHON

It’s arguably the most scenic marathon course in the world. The Honolulu Marathon celebrates 41 years of challenging runners from around the world. Thousands of racers take to the streets of Honolulu starting at 5 a.m. through a course that ends at Kapi’olani Park. The legendary Waikiki Beach Boys that helped put Waikiki on the map are the subject of a special exhibit at The Royal Hawaiian. This rare collection of photographs features well-known beach boys including Chick Daniels, Duke Kahanamoku, Sally Hale, Pua Kealoha and more.
