Twisted Tea

RumFire takes a tradition to the next level.

Get ready to let your hair—and put your pinkies—down. RumFire’s Spiked Tea brings the genteel habit of yesteryear straight into the new millennium. As RumFire asserts, “This is not your tutu‘s (Hawaiian for grandma) tea party.”

In place of dainty finger sandwiches, find a menu laden with sumptuous sliders—The Remedy, ground black angus topped with Italian truffle cheese and smothered with summer truffle aioli, and The Twisted, braised beef short rib topped with coleslaw, are two meaty choices. On the lighter side, there’s The Little Saigon, offering up layers of flavor with its tamarind-marinated chicken topped with young papaya salad, and The Spiked, a chimichurri-marinated mahi with a shredded cabbage “slaw.”

There’s even the meatless decadence of The Skinny, a slider consisting of fresh mozzarella, macadamia nut romesco and Hamakua tomato.

These are served up with dangerously addictive sides such as Tatas, crisp tater tots drizzled with white truffle oil and topped with Parmesan cheese, and Hot Potatoes, Yukon potato fries dusted with Espelette pepper that will make your taste buds sing.

Now for the ultimate “twist”: choose from a selection of cocktails—all of which feature tea as one of the ingredients—specially concocted by RumFire’s mixologists. If you’re in the mood for refreshing, choose Ginger Vert or Lavender Mint. Have a sweet tooth? The Jack’s Peach Tea and Sweet Energy are for you.

Or, if to you, tea means a warm beverage no matter what, get the Honey Toddy.

Tie things up nicely with a “Happy Ending”—perfectly sized desserts including the Red Decadence, Chocolate Addiction and The Tart.

RumFire offers their high tea experience, which includes one cocktail, two sliders and a dessert of your choice for $20. It’s the perfect way to indulge in the many flavors offered up in this inspired menu.

Further turning tradition on its head, surround yourself in chic, ultra lounge-style by staying within RumFire’s walls, or head outdoors to take advantage of beach breezes and views of Diamond Head. DJs spin the latest tunes, keeping the mood hip, yet low-key.
