French Fare

IMG_4601Ten years ago Le Jardin opened its doors at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa and has since offered guests and visitors a real taste of Hawai‘i.

Popular items at Le Jardin include the Açai Fresh Fruit Bowl ($10.95) and Crêpes ($11.95, assorted fruits).

The infamous açai is topped with fresh tropical fruits, such as strawberries, bananas, berries, papayas, kiwis and apples, and Ellen Poon, owner, notes that this is a customer favorite throughout the day.

Invigorating crêpes feature the same types of fruits found in the açai bowls, and make for a tasty treat or meal before you hit the beach or pool.

Also on the menu are real fruit smoothies, vegetable smoothies, sandwiches and more.

The cool, refreshing flavors of the açai compliment a warm sunny afternoon or a relaxing evening dessert.

Poon enjoys French-style eateries and brought a slice of Europe back to the islands.

“I’ve been to France, and that’s why it’s called Le Jardin,” she explains, noting that the phrase signifies freshness and quality. “We have fresh fruits, fresh flowers, fresh everything.”

The fresh flowers Poon speaks of are the customized flower arrangements and lei that also are available.

All items are made-to-order, so customers can rest assured that they’re getting the freshest meals and snacks on the block. Open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
