Kimukatsu comes to Waikiki.

Tokyo hot spot Kimukatsu makes its Hawai‘i debut right here in Waikiki! With its casual-cool interiors and visual menu, the restaurant oozes “hip, Japanese eatery.” The restaurant’s claim to fame lies in its 25-layer pork cutlet.

Coated in breadcrumbs, fried and steamed until it’s perfectly crisp on the outside and thoroughly cooked on the inside, the famous pork cutlet comes in a variety of flavors such as cheese, black pepper and okonomiyaki style. Diners can choose to have a set meal— which includes cabbage salad, rice, miso soup and Japanese pickles— or go a la carte. If you’d like spice up your entree, try one of the five optional special sauces: garlic butter, ume shiso ponzu, salt and spring onion, grated daikon and yuzu ponzu. Kimukatsu also has plenty of starters to choose from onion salad to taro tempura. As for dessert, you’ll love the black sesame pudding or Japanese panna cotta.
