"Good Guys" Clay Nakasone and Bryan Aoyagi

Good Guys Music and Sound, located between Jack in the Box and Zippy’s Restaurant on Kapahulu Avenue, is a mecca for serious musicians looking to score pre-owned instruments, electronics and sound systems at can’t-beat-‘em prices. The “good guys” behind the scenes are Clay Nakasone and Bryan Aoyagi, two friends who have been familiar faces on the Hawai‘i retail music scene for more than 30 years. Since opening up Good Guys Music and Sound in 1999, the duo have cemented a reputation among music fans and aficionados for having the place to go to find the best prices on new and used music gear, including one of the largest selections of guitars and ‘ukulele on the island.

Bring in an old instrument or piece of equipment for cash or trade-in value, or just stop by to “talk story” with the Good Guys staff of knowledgeable employees, who are more than willing to share their enormous expertise and experience.
