The New Chain Gang

Japan’s Lawston Station comes to Waikiki.

Lawson, Inc., Japan’s second-largest convenience store chain, opened its first two Hawai‘i locations in Waikiki over the summer. Called Lawson Station, these neighborhood stores operate under the philosophy “Bring Happiness and Harmony to our Community” and cater to the wants and needs of local customers.

Both stores carry a variety of Japanese fast foods (try the delicious oden), beverages, beach goods, sundries and gifts, but each is distinct in its own way. Located mere steps from Waikiki Beach, the Lawson Station at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, offers both beach goods and snacks for beachgoers, while the Lawson Station at the Sheraton Waikiki features a special display with approximately 1,500 souvenir items.

For visitors from Japan, Japanese-speaking staff will be available to assure a pleasant shopping experience (however, they may not be available at all times).
