Vintage Vendor

Make a toast to the New Year with a sophisticated libation from Waikiki Wine Closet, Waikiki’s only retail wine shop. This family-owned and -operated business is run by father-son duo Bud and Everett Milstead, who both have owned successful restaurants and retail establishments both in California and Hawai‘i. Staying true to the motto “life is too short to drink bad wine,” the Milsteads opened Waikiki Wine Closet, and for the past year have been offering patrons a long list of extraordinary vintages from Warwick, Kenneth Volk Vineyards, Opolo Vineyards and Buccella, among others. Unsure of which label to take with you? Stop in for Waikiki Wine Closet’s tastings each Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.; or schedule a private wine and beer tasting. They’ll arrange for parties both small and large, a perfect option for any special occasion (think: bridal shower, birthday or anniversary bash). Waikiki Wine Closet is open between 2 and 10 p.m. daily.
