Get your fill at Pikake Terrace.

Chances are, if you are reading this, you’re on vacation or, for kama’aina, a stay-cation in Waikiki. Vacations (whether far or close to home) are a chance for indulgence and the Pikake Terrace has diners covered in that area day and night.

Pikake Terrace’s garden setting allows guests to enjoy the fresh air as they dine poolside. Start the day off with a sumptuous breakfast buffet that’s open from 6 (for you early risers) to 11 a.m. (for those who’d rather saunter than charge into your day). The menu here covers American and Asian/ Pacific favorites so there’s a chance to be a little adventurous (miso soup and diced tofu and other Japanese selections) or stick to tried-and-true comfort foods (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes and cereals). You can choose to go light with fresh fruits or a salad. Just be sure to wash it all down with pineapple, orange or guava juice. A continental breakfast is also available.

Come dinnertime (5:30-9 p.m. daily), Pikake Terrace is a great choice every day, thanks to a rotating menu. Each night features a different theme. Sunday is Ocean Harvest Dinner Buffet with an iced seafood bar, shrimp and scallop bouillabaisse and miso-marinated codfish. Monday’s Mediterranean menu highlights Southern Europe. On Tuesday, it’s a Hawaiian Pacific Journey with kalua pig with cabbage, sauteed mahi mahi and spicy tako and cucumber poke. A celebration of island cuisines is the focus of Wednesday’s Mauka & Makai buffet. Thursday’s theme is Asian-Hawaiian Journey with Chinatown sweet & sour shrimp, Korean-style pork, kim chee and dim sum. Friday’s Seafood Buffet is not-to-be-missed with garlic shrimp scampi, sauteed catch of the day and stir-fried sweet soy chicken on local bok choy. Saturday is perfect for the ‘Ohana Backyard BBQ with selections served up from the Pikake Terrace’s outdoor BBQ.

Regardless of which day it is, the menu always includes an exquisite carving station serving up prime rib of beef with a thyme-infused au jus and creamy horseradish as well as decadent steamed crab legs with drawn butter. End everything on a sweet note at the build-your-own ice cream sundae bar or a medley of treats from the full dessert station.

In addition to delicious daily menus, Pikake Terrace gets into the holiday spirit with its spectacular Santa’s Gingerbread Village, complete with a gingerbread version of landmarks around the world, including ‘Iolani Palace!

Thanks to its hearty offerings, Pikake Terrace is the perfect place to dine for everyday meals as well as special occasions—something to keep in mind this holiday season.
