Japengo and SHOR unveil new menus

They say you come to a restaurant for the food but return for the experience. When it comes to Japengo and SHOR, it is not only the experience, but also the enchanting food that will always have you coming back for more. The two restaurants, both located on the third floor of Hyatt Regency Waikiki introduce local, sustainable, and of course, delicious new additions to their menus that will have kama’aina and tourists alike asking for seconds.

One of Japengo’s new starters is Hamachi To-jo, thinly sliced hamachi over ponzu sauce topped with a medley of jalapeno, red onion and red chili flakes, that is full of flavors that complement each other perfectly. Japengo mastered the perfect hint of spiciness with Thai Red Curry Seafood. This recent menu addition is filled with scallops, lobster tail, king crab, clams, seasonal island catch fish, prawns, vegetables and kafir lime leaf. To end your dinner on a sweet note, opt for Japengo’s new dessert, Sticky Date Pudding, with Hawai’i Island vanilla mascarpone and a touch of caramel sauce.

If the cuisine of SHOR, a contemporary American seafood and steak grill, is calling your name, the new ‘Ahi Kampachi Poke garnished with sea asparagus, Maui onions and sesame oil is a fresh and honest take on the Hawaiian classic. Hyatt’s herbs are grown on-site for new specialty dish, Kona Kampachi (local Big Island fish over juicy lobster, sweet potato, corn, and island herb butter). SHOR’s Half Pound Bucket of Pacific Shrimp is local Kaua’i shrimp poached-to-order and served chilled with spicy mango cocktail sauce.

When it comes to quality and full flavor, Japengo and SHOR are the experts—the new menus are fully stocked with ingredients local to the islands of Hawai’i that are sure to make a splash in the shores of Waikiki.
