Custom Classic
Launched in May, L’Icona is an online customization offering from Salvatore Ferragamo that gives customers the ability to design their own Vara (mid-heel shoe with grosgrain bow and gold plaque with Ferragamo logo) and Varina (ballet flat based on the Vara) shoes styles. The Vara, introduced in 1978, is an international icon, and one of the most recognized styles from Salvatore Ferragamo. Personalize your own classic Vara by choosing a body color or print and complementing it with the bow/heel color of your choice. Each custom pair of shoes will also include a custom initial plate at the bottom of each shoe. The price (which includes shipping anywhere in the United States) is $550. If you do not live in the United States, head to the Waikiki location at Royal Hawaiian Center, where you can do your custom order in person. L’Icona will offer customers the ability to customize Vara and Varina styles for one year, so expect new and added colors for each season until next May.
