Afternoon Tea at The Veranda carries on an elegant turn-of-the-century tradition.
It’s a dining experience that will take you back in time. Indulge in an afternoon tea, on a shaded beachfront veranda at the Moana Surfrider, just as the gentlemen and ladies from a bygone era once did. Like those guests from years ago, you’ll find it’s the perfect respite from the afternoon sun in the comfort of the hotel’s cozy lounge chairs, cooled by Hawai’i’s gentle ocean breezes. Sip some tea; refresh your mind, body and spirit as you observe the happenings on Waikiki beach. Afternoon tea is also the perfect time to immerse yourself in conversation with friends and family as hostesses present freshly brewed pots of teas along with light repasts of savories and pastries. The Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa continues this elegant tradition with its signature Afternoon Tea Service serving a variety of fine teas, accompanied by a selection of delicious finger sandwiches, scones and delicate pastries.
Tropical custom tea blends by The Tea Chest balance the Moana’s collection of fine teas.
One of the hotel’s popular fruit-flavored teas, the Moana Sunset, marries flavors of tangy ‘ohelo berry and juicy sweet mango. Another original tea selection, the Veranda Breeze, is a nod to exotic Polynesia, consisting of a blend of caramel and heady Hawaiian vanilla.
Other favorites include the White Tea Serenade and Lemon Rooibos. Decaffeinated teas are also available in the tea collection.
Guests are served assorted delicate sandwiches as a starter. Vegetarian sandwiches are also available upon request. Delectable pastries and other sweet treats including petit fours arrive on a three-tiered European chinaware tray with warm scones accompanied by rich Devonshire cream, lemon curd and preserves. The Kaffir lime-lemon grass green tea sorbet is a refreshing finale to the refreshingly elegant and refreshingly civilized experience.
The Moana Surfrider offers afternoon tea on The Veranda daily from 12 to 3 p.m. The Veranda Tea Service is $34 (plus tax) per person, Moana Classic Tea Service is $40 (plus tax) and the First Lady Tea Service is $48 (plus tax) per person.
