Thousands gathered for the season 4 world premiere of CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki last fall. Fans were also treated to a special guest performance by the Jonas Brothers (one of their last!) after watching the episode. We caught up with some of the stars on the red carpet and asked them what their favorite thing about Waikiki is:

Alex O’Loughlin (Steve McGarrett)

“My house, which is kind of in the Waikiki area,” says the Australian actor, who has a baby boy named Lion with local surfer/model Malia Jones.

Daniel Dae Kim (Chin Ho Kelly)

In Waikiki, Kim lists Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar (for Crab Ramen with Asian Truffle Broth), GS Studio (for karaoke) and Nobu as his favorites. As for what he orders at the bar, “Right now I’m liking sazerac,” he says.

Michelle Borth (Catherine Rollins)

Borth, who lives in Waikiki, says BLT Steak in the Trump Hotel is one of her favorite places in the neighborhood. She also picked up surfing since moving to Hawai’i, and lists Pops as one of her favorite spots.

Teilor Grubbs (Grace Williams)

“The penguins at the Hilton Hawaiian Village,” says the 7th grader.

Mark Dacascos (Wo Fat)

“I love to people-watch,” says Dacascos, who was born and raised on O’ahu before moving to the mainland at age 6. “Just take it easy and cruise, walk up and down the street. Sometimes I’ll take a longboard and surf out there, and I love seeing the kids play and my kids love it down here because the waves are so friendly.”

Fun fact: Married to actress Julie Condra and a father of three beautiful children—Makoa, Kapono and Noelani—

Dacascos loves Hawai’i so much he not only gave his keiki Hawaiian names, but even convinced his wife to give birth to each of them in Hawai’i.

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas

Nick Jonas was a guest star on Hawaii Five-0 this season, and it was the first time the three brothers were in Hawai’i together as a group. Their thoughts on Waikiki: “The ocean is incredible and the drinks are great.” As for what they’ve been drinking, “Mai Tais.”

Executive Producer Peter Lenkov

“I’m at Nobu a lot and BLT Steak,” says Lenkov, noting that he has a long list of favorite places in Waikiki. “And the Halekulani, I’m there all the time at House Without A Key for margaritas and chips.”
