First-timers to Hawai‘i are well aware of the havoc too much sun exposure can have on their skin, but forget that their hair is equally at risk.

A combination of UVA and UVB exposure, pool chlorine and ocean salinity can cause locks to get dry and brittle, and color to fade. Spa treatments for hair can be just the Rx you need to restore your hair’s shiny luster. Here are a few places to visit if you’re in need of a quick fix:

Abhasa Spa

Take time for a 3 Step Treatment that starts with cleansing hair of built-up residue, prepping the hair cuticles to absorb the collagen treatment, and infusing hair with enriching nutrients. This treatment leaves hair shiny for up to one month, and a treatment kit is provided to help with at-home maintenance. The treatment lasts about an hour, depending on hair length. The cost is $60.
