Fourever Fab!

March 18, 2014 | By Christina O Connor

No matter where The Beatles tribute group Fourever Fab performs in the world, they find one thing to be consistent: People everywhere know every word to all The Beatles songs—even in non-English speaking countries.

“There is definitely a universal demand for The Beatles. The Beatles transcend countries and language barriers,” says show producer Andrew Hill, who has been a “huge Beatles fan” since he was 12.

Fourever Fab was formed about two years ago and is comprised of sound-alikes of George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr who are dedicated to perfecting The Beatles’ sound. They have been performing in Waikiki since October.

The show takes the audience through the band’s varied musical repertoire, beginning with their early pop songs, and through their darker, introspective era.

“Plus, we wanted to have a show here in Hawai’i that had a bit of a Hawaiian feel to it,” Hill says. That means, he says, that a lot of the songs that the group will perform include numbers that were inspired by nature, like “Good Day Sunshine” and “Here Comes The Sun.”

Other familiar tunes performed include “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” “Twist And Shout,” “Hey Jude” and “Come Together.”

“We cover the whole gauntlet of material,” Hill says.

So far the audience has been raving about the show. And while it strikes a particular chord with Baby Boomers, Hill says that the younger audiences have been just as enthusiastic. “Kids love it. The parents love it. The grandparents love it. There is no generation gap,” Hill says.

“You can’t find anyone like The Beatles,” he says. “Good music always passes the test of time.”

Fourever Fab will play at the Pacific Beach Hotel at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
