Borders cross in eye-catching cashmere at Pashma. The India-based resortwear line has graced The Royal Hawaiian’s lobby with luxurious textile, scarves, wraps and ready-to-wear since its grand opening earlier this year.

Founded in 1991 by Shilu Kumar, creating wearable art in vivid, contemporary colors is Pashma’s forte. A touch of craftsmanship and the “world’s finest” handspun cashmere, silk and linen fibers are the textiles and tactics touting the brand’s premier quality.

“The Pashma store at The Royal Hawaiian holds great significance, and our products, inspired by a potpourri of eclectic inspirations, are a tribute to the cultural diversity of these beautiful islands,” Kumar says.

“The brand was the first to print on cashmere—‘happy prints,’ as the designer Shilu Kumar calls them,” says Naomi Matsuno Gauthier, international brand manager, citing “signature weave scarves” as the boutique’s best sellers.

Pashma’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection captures “the spirit of a jetsetter” who collects delicate motifs from epic international voyages. A mélange of lush tropical hues and the azure of the Caribbean Sea highlight the ethereal appeal of Pashma’s signature prints.

An ode to the “Pink Palace,” Pashma’s Waikiki locale fashioned an exclusive cashmere shawl in the landmark’s pearl pink hue. (Note: Limited-edition colors change seasonally.)
