Pineapple-County-(3)-If you’re looking for a kawaii (cute) boutique that offers something for everyone, look no further-Pineapple County is the perfect spot for you! “[Pineapple County] underwent a big makeover last year and is now offering more casual, beach-oriented styles that are still trendy,” says store manager Keiko Paahao. “We mainly carry women’s clothing and accessories with a few select brand names, but also expanded to men’s and babies. It is beachy, but also a trendy style that people can’t easily find somewhere else.” According to Paahao, the most popular brands are the surf brands such as Billabong, Volcom, Rip Curl, Obey, Junk Food and One Teaspoon. Pineapple County also sells its “Original T-shirt,” which is available for men, women and keiki (children). The designs for the tees vary, but many of them feature Pineapple County’s mascot, Pine Chan, who is an adorable pineapple girl. Also, if you’re on vacation and want a little omiyage (souvenir) to bring back to your friends, they offer a fabulous collection of little trinkets and knick-knacks. For the locals, do not forget to take advantage of the 10 percent discount. Before leaving, get your cameras ready and strike a pose with the cute mascots in front of the store!
