Message From Mayor Peter B. Carlisle
Office of the Mayor
City and County of Honolulu
It gives me great pleasure to offer a warm welcome to those reading O‘ahu’s latest bimonthly magazine, Waikiki, published by the Star-Advertiser.
Waikiki magazine, which targets both visitors and residents, provides useful information for those who love the shopping, dining and entertainment in the area. The months of April and May feature a number of unique activities in Honolulu, including the 85th Annual Lei Day Celebration, Waikiki SPAM Jam Street Festival, Memorial Day activities at Pearl Harbor and the National Cemetery of the Pacific, as well as the Lantern Floating Ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park.
We hope visitors and residents will explore our city and enjoy the many recreational activities that make Honolulu great. We anticipate continued economic growth spurred by new business and trade opportunities. It is exciting that Waikiki magazine will be at the forefront—providing timely and relevant information to its readers.
On behalf of the people of the City and County of Honolulu, I extend best wishes to the readers of Waikiki.
